Charles Martinet (born September 17, 1955, San Jose, California, USA) is an American actor and voice actor. He is best known for voicing Mario in the Super Mario video game series. He voiced Mario, the titular character in Nintendo's flagship video game franchise, from 1991 to 2023. He also voiced Baby Mario, Paper Mario, Luigi, Baby Luigi, Paper Luigi, Wario, Baby Wario, Waluigi, Toadsworth and others. Recently, he voiced the Bros.' father and Giuseppe in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
In Punch-Out!!-related media, Martinet voices every single character in Super Punch Out!!, including Little Mac.
On August 21, 2023, Nintendo of America announced on Twitter that Martinet would be retiring from providing voice acting for the Super Mario games but would continue to work with Nintendo as "Mario Ambassador".
