Edgar Wald

Edgar Wald (February 26, 1941, Mexico City, DF, Mexico) is a Mexican actor and voice actor who did most of his voice work while living in Los Angeles. Like Peter Cullen, he's best known for voicing Optimus Prime, but his other voice work includes James Bond in The Living Daylights, Destro and Bazooka in G.I. Joe and dubbing Dolph Lungren's character in Rocky IV. For a while, it was rumored that Wald had died, but it was later confirmed the rumors were false. Though Wald is retired, and Optimus Prime was voiced in the first two movies by Blas Garcia, Spanish-speaking fans started a petition to get Wald cast as Optimus for the Dark of the Moon Spanish dub, but were ultimately unsuccessful as Blas Garcia remained as Optimus Prime's voice actor in the third film.
