Lars Junker Thiesgaard (March 7, 1959, Gråsten, Denmark), credited as Lars Thiesgaard, is a Danish voice actor, who dubbed Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and various other characters in and The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets from Space and Muppets Now. He voiced Cookie Monster, Bert, and Hoots the Owl in Leg med os fra Sesamgade and Elmo's Verden. He voiced Eliot Shag, Bugsy Vile, Bruno and many others in Dog City, Baby Fozzie in 2018's Muppet Babies, and was heard in other projects.
Thiesgaard ended up doing Fozzie's voice in the Norwegian dub of The Muppet Christmas Carol, En Muppet Julefortelling. The reason for it was that they had problems finding a fitting Norwegian voice for the character. Since he already had learned some Norwegian years before, Thiesgaard volunteered to reprise the role. The Norwegian dubbing director would say the lines, so he could learn the correct pronunciation, before the line was recorded. He graduated from Odense acting school in 1983. In 1988 Thiesgaard attended a week long course run by Henrik Kofoed and Nis Bank-Mikkelsen in the art of dubbing. Since 1989, he has primarily worked as a voice actor, were he has worked on hundreds of cartoons and other voice over projects. He has also served as voice director and taught classes at Odense acting school in voice work.
He is the official voice for the Disney characters Pumbaa, Piglet, and Pete. Other characters include Bob the Builder, Cow and Chicken's arch nemesis Red Guy, Johnny Bravo, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the Joker and others on Batman: The Animated Series, and Superman. His favorite character to dub is Pumbaa the warthog.
